Why Google Product Listings Bring in the BEST Traffic for Your Drop Shipping Site

By September 29, 2016Dropshipping, Uncategorized

I am a HUGE fan of paying for traffic.

I know that sounds weird, but it’s true.

You can either spend money, or you can spend time.

You can always make more money, but you can’t make any more time.

Therefore if there’s a way for me to save time and get results quicker, than I want to explore that option for sure.

As drop shippers, it’s important to understand what type of advertising will work best for your business.

There are different types of buyers out there, and there are different “stages” in the buyer’s funnel.

For example, if your drop shipping site was selling wooden clogs, you need to understand that there are lots of people out there that don’t know they want or need your product.

They’re just going about their day, cruising Facebook at lunch, and happen to see an ad that is promoting 10% off their first pair of clogs. They’ve now become a “lead” for your business.

However, this not the BEST type of lead. Sure, you’ve interrupted what they were doing and grabbed their attention. Now they’re at least thinking about your product offer…

But, the BEST type of lead is the buyer who ALREADY knows they want to buy wooden clogs! They’ve been thinking about them, budgeting for them, doing the research…This is the type of buyer we want to target!

So how do we do that? How do we get our products in front of the people who already want to buy them?

Using Google’s Shopping Campaigns:

By having your product listed in the Shopping Campaign area, you are positioning yourself as an authority in your niche and putting your offer right in the forefront of people who already know they want to buy it.

This produces a much higher conversion rate than if you were trying to “educate and convince” someone on Facebook that they need to buy your product.

Couple more benefits to using this advertising method:

  1. Because it captures more “targeted” traffic, your cost per click will be cheaper. You’ll save money on advertising AND get a better quality lead.
  2. Google has great analytics on the backend so you can see what is working and what is not working, and adjust accordingly.
  3. This can be a shortcut to your success. Instead of trying to hunt down buyers, you put your product in front of buyers who are already hungry for it!

You’ve heard me say it before, and I’ll say it again:

The key to your marketing success relies on your ability to become a “master tester.”

We have to learn how to test things quickly, get results quickly, and adjust quickly.

Paying for traffic and advertising is simply a way to speed up your learning curve. The faster you can collect data, the faster you can tweak your website, product, and price and get it to a place where it’s profitable and working well for you.

Convinced yet?

Below I’ve linked to a YouTube video called “Adwords in under five minutes” which gives you a quick walkthrough on how to go and set up for your first Google Shopping Campaign.

Check it out and go launch an ad! Then take that data, tweak, adjust, and let’s get your drop shipping business dialed in!

Now of course I’m not saying if you go launch an ad with Google you’ll make millions of sales instantly. It will take some learning and testing. But, you might as well get working on it now.

The faster you start, the faster you’ll succeed.

Now go get after it!

P.S. Using Google Shopping Campaigns + Facebook Retargeting ads can be a very profitable combination. Customers will see your ad on Google, then have your product, along with a 10% off coupon, follow them around Facebook. This will really keep your product on the customer’s mind and ensure they go with your company when they’re ready to make a buying decision!
